God is Worthy

Revelations 5:12
In a loud voice they were saying:
“Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain,
to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength
and honor and glory and praise!”

God wants us to be worthy.  He has given us chances over and over since sin was introduced to the world.  All He asks of us is to repent of our sins and ask Jesus to be our personal Savior.  When we make that decision, He deems us worthy, and we are immediately marked with the sign of the cross .  Ezekiel 9:4 says, “Then the Lord called to the man clothed in linen who had the writing kit at his side and said to him, 'Go throughout the city of Jerusalem and put a mark on the foreheads of those who grieve and lament over all the detestable things that are done in it.'”   Revelations 7:3 says, “Do not harm the land or the sea or the trees until we put a seal on the foreheads of the servants of our Gods.” Isn't that awesome to know that by accepting Jesus Christ as our personal Savior, we have the sign on our forehead and will spend eternity with our Heavenly Father and the Son?  We cannot see the sign. Others cannot see it.  But God sees it.  We are worthy; He values us.  He knows that we are honorable and important; He will give us a second, third times a thousand chances.  Even though you accepted Jesus years ago and haven't been faithful to Him, all you have to do is repent of your sins, and He will forgive you!

Jesus Christ our Lord sacrificed His life for our sins.  He was whipped and made to carry his own cross.  He was denied by his own disciples.  He was slain for us that we could live in eternity with him.  Like the sacrificial lamb, he died and bled for us.  Worthy is the Lamb.

Dear God, We thank you for your Son who died for us.  We pray that during this Lenten season people will open their hearts to Him.  In Jesus' worthy name, Amen.
