Adopt-A-School

Join the Mount Auburn family in our ongoing mission to support students facing food anxieties in the 2023-2024 school year at Isom and Northeast Elementaries within the Greenwood School District. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Mount Auburn family for supporting this benevolent cause, and a special shoutout to all the incredible food donors – your generosity is truly awesome!

Isom Elementary’s “Nutrition Club” serves over 45 students, while Northeast Elementary’s club assists more than 45 students, ensuring they have weekend meals throughout the school year. It costs just $3.60 per student per week to make a significant impact. There has been an increase in the number of students with food insecurities. Please consider donating items on the list in the image below.

Your individual efforts and contributions from Life Groups have not gone unnoticed. This school year, we’ve provided food for a remarkable 2585 individual bags, totaling 5170 pounds or 2.585 tons of food delivered to students facing food insecurities at both elementary schools. WOW!

The counselors and staff at both schools and Dr. Terry Terhune, Superintendent of Greenwood Schools, are very grateful for all we do for their students.

THESE ARE THE ONLY FOOD ITEMS ACCEPTED
(No boxes of Mac & Cheese or fruit drinks)

Please place donations on the Adopt-A-School table in the hallway outside of the kitchen.

The next bagging session will be on Tuesday, April 30 at 10:15am. Enter through Door 5 (You may need to knock loudly if the door is locked).

WE ARE IN SERIOUS NEED OF ALL ITEMS!

For more information or if you have any questions, please contact Mark Mull via cellphone at (317) 319-2164 Your support means the world to us and to the students!

A special thanks to Marge Patton, Libby Allen, Mark Silvertooth, Debbie Thompson, Linda Alexa, and Jan Percifield for helping bag the 170 individual student bags needed for the upcoming two weekends. With all of their help, this task only took 35 minutes!
