November 24, 2020
Dear Mt. Auburn Family,
As we look forward to the holiday season, we are reminded just how BLESSED we are to have you as a part of our church family. This has been a challenging year, but we have seen God remain faithful in our ministry through mission projects, church events, serving the community around us, online services and so much more. It has been a blessing to see each one of you step up and be the church to those who need it most.
Just when we thought we couldn’t get any more blessed this year, a Mt. Auburn family has graciously given us $200,000 to help pay off Mt. Auburn’s Stones Crossing Campus’ mortgage. That only leaves $100,000 left! It has been placed on this family’s hearts to share this with you as a challenge to pay off the full mortgage by December 31, 2020.
We are asking you to prayerfully consider this challenge because retiring this debt strengthens Mt. Auburn’s ability to reach our community. It allows us to shift our resources from facility payments (inward focus) to evangelism and community service (outward focus). If you feel led to give, you will help strengthen Mt. Auburn’s financial viability and secure our ministry role in the future. Do you feel God calling you to participate in this challenge? If you do, please know that every gift, whether large or small, is important and will be stewarded well. You are able to give through appreciated stocks, bonds or mutual funds, just make sure you mark it “debt reduction.” This method creates a tax reduction opportunity.
This family’s gift is truly inspiring! Mt. Auburn’s leadership council met on Monday night to officially accept this gift and start the challenge. We do want to say thank you to all the Mt. Auburn family who have been faithfully giving to pay off the mortgage. We are so close to being debt-free at Mt. Auburn’s Stones Crossing Campus and have you to thank for that.
Whether you feel led to give or not, please join us in celebrating God’s blessing on Mt. Auburn and pray alongside us for this challenge.
Praising and thanking God,
Pastor Jeff Buck
